Thrift shopping myths

Many people have their reasons why thrift shopping doesn't work for them. Some people hate how daunting the task is to thrift shop, others find it impossible to find exactly what they are looking for. Whatever case you find yourself in hopefully these myth busters will get you on your way to a pain free thrift shopping experience.

Myth # 1:  I cannot find my style in a thrift store.

Absolutely false. You first have to know your style. When you thrift shop it is very important that you are comfortable with mixing and matching different patterns and clothing types. If you do not mind mixing it up a little you will be sure to find your style. The great thing about thrift shopping is that it gives you the chance to create your very own unique style. You have the privilege to own a piece of clothing that is often times rare and unique.

Myth#2:  Thrift stores only carry old and worn clothing

Not true. I am thriftier myself and in the past I have come across many great finds. Some clothes even had tags on them. If you take the time to look through the clothes you can actually find some really great stuff.

Myth # 3:  I am a curvier bigger boned person, so thrift stores will never have my size

False. There are many people that I know who are a little more heavy set than others , but they always find some great things. Again, you have to know what you are looking for first, this will make everything much more easier.

Myth #4: There are no "in style" clothing in a thrift store

Wrong. I can’t count on my ten little fingers all of the up to date named brand items that I have found in a thrift store. Some of the items that I have come across include an awesome pair Calvin Klein jeans, a DKNY skirt that I absolutely adore, a gorgeous Jones New York wrap dress and the list goes on.
